Every Chair I've Rolled In (Go Titanium)

You've rolled in a lot of chairs. Which one was the best, and what would you tell someone picking their first?

Guest

I've had several manual chairs over the years. I've had an Action. I've had several Quickies. I liked the Quickies probably the best, until I got the Colours.

The Colours chair was f***ing amazing. Best chair ever. But insurance usually won't buy you a Colours chair. I got really lucky and somehow got them to fund me one out in Las Vegas. Fabulous chair. Best chair ever.

And the runner-up?

Guest

Titanium Quickie. Another good chair. Way lighter than the aluminum. Go titanium, 100%, if you're a pusher.

Actually, if you're a pusher, start with an aluminum. Then get yourself a titanium. Then you'll realize how much lighter it actually is. Very cool. Titanium's definitely worth it if you can get the insurance to pay for it.

And after that?

Guest

When your shoulders and your elbows and your wrists or thumbs start hurting, get yourself a power chair. You won't want to. But once you have it, the freedom it opens up is even more than the push chair.

Keep your push chair around for traveling in other people's cars, though. A power chair's a little heavy to put in unless you've got a van.

Grok

So: start aluminum, go titanium, go power when your joints say so, and keep the push chair for rides.

That's it.
